The deadly Aussie flu virus is feared to have spread to almost all UK areas following a weekend surge in cases. Dorchester in Dorset and the City of London are now the only places where the “influenza-like illness” has been reported – with churches even banning handshakes in an attempt to curb the spread of infection. Some 4.5million people claimed to have been affected over the past week.
Dartford was one of the last areas to have cases reported, with Essex, Teesside and Devon appearing to be among the worst-hit regions. In the last 24 hours the Brecon Beacons and Telford, which yesterday had no reported cases, were revealed to have at least one each. Figures from the NHS show that over 1,500 people across the country have been struck down with the illness. READ MORE
A woman who battled blood cancer for years without success finally halted the disease with turmeric, it has been reported. Doctors say her case is the first recorded instance in which a patient has recovered by using the spice after stopping conventional medical treatments.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2 (KJV)
EDITOR’S NOTE: Many people have successfully beaten various types of cancer with natural supplements, but it almost never gets attributed to that by the medical professionals. So it is quite interesting that doctors in England have verified a case in which a woman with blood cancer that was not stopped by traditional chemotherapy, was able to stop it with turmeric which can be purchased in any health food store in America. The amounts that she took were standardized to 8mg per day. You have to do your homework and research, and learn that not all supplements are the same quality. But in my life, I have been blessed of the Lord to see medical conditions in both my life and those I love become either cured or greatly improved by using natural fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs and natural supplements. God’s ways are always the best ways.
Dieneke Ferguson is now leading a normal life after giving up on gruelling treatments that failed to stop it. With her myeloma spreading rapidly after three rounds of chemotherapy and four stem cell transplants, the 67-year-old began taking 8g of curcumin a day – one of the main compounds in turmeric.
The cancer, which has an average survival of just over five years, was causing increasing back pain and she had already had a second relapse. But it stabilised after Mrs Ferguson, from north London, came across the remedy on the internet in 2011 and decided to try it as a last resort.
The tablets are expensive – £50 for ten days – but as kitchen turmeric contains just 2 per cent curcumin it would be impossible to eat enough to get the same dose. Mrs Ferguson, who was first diagnosed in 2007, continues to take curcumin without further treatment and her cancer cell count is negligible.
The experts, led by Dr Abbas Zaidi, said some myeloma patients took dietary supplements alongside conventional treatment but ‘few, if any, use dietary supplementation as an alternative to standard antimyeloma therapy’.
But they added: ‘In the absence of further antimyeloma treatment the patient plateaued and has remained stable for the past five years with good quality of life.’
Since the turn of the century, more than 50 studies have tested curcumin – the pigment in turmeric that gives it that bright yellow colour.
They suggest the spice can protect against several cancers, as well as Alzheimer’s, heart disease and depression. It has also been shown to help speed recovery after surgery and effectively treat arthritis.
But although it is widely used in Eastern medicine, and has been studied for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects, curcumin is not widely prescribed because it has never been tested in large-scale trials.
The doctors wrote that the ‘biological activity of curcumin is indeed remarkable’, including its ‘anti-proliferative effects in a wide variety of tumour cells’.
But Professor Jamie Cavenagh, one of the authors of the paper, stressed it may not work for all patients. He said: ‘A lot of my patients take curcumin at different stages of their treatment. I don’t object to it.
‘Dieneke’s is the best response I have observed and it is clear-cut because we had stopped all other treatment.’
Mrs Ferguson, who runs Hidden Art, a not-for-profit business helping artists market their work, is frustrated doctors cannot recommend the spice and wants more research carried out.
She said: ‘I hope my story will lead to more people finding out about the amazing health benefits of curcumin.’ Myeloma affects some 5,500 people in the UK every year, killing nearly 3,000. source
Although their goal was to cure diabetes, scientists may have stumbled onto a new medication to help treat the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease. According to a press release from researchers at Lancaster University, a new drug being tested for diabetes patients was found to have “significantly reversed memory loss” in test subjects and is now being examined as a possible treatment for neurodegenerative disorders.
The medication, known as a triple receptor drug — or “triple agonist” — reportedly works in multiple ways to protect the brain against degeneration and promote growth. Researchers say that a study of mice being given the drug found that the animals had an increased ability to learn and retain memories. “These very promising outcomes demonstrate the efficacy of these novel multiple receptor drugs that originally were developed to treat type 2 diabetes,” Professor Christian Holscher said in the release. (Natural News) Independent media leaders like Mike Adams, the Health Ranger and editor of Natural News, have long been vilified by the mainstream media for daring to insist that chemotherapy actually causes cancer. Time and again, Natural News has published articles based on scientific studies that prove the inefficiency and downright danger of conventional cancer treatments. Now, yet another study has been published confirming that link.
The study, conducted by a research team from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), and published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine, found that the dead and dying cancer cells created by chemotherapy trigger inflammation which in turn promotes “aggressive tumor growth.”
“In this study we demonstrate that chemotherapy-generated debris from dead and dying tumor cells can stimulate tumor growth, which has pivotal implications for the treatment of cancer patients,” said Dipak Panigrahy, MD, the study’s lead author and an assistant professor at BIDMC’s Department of Pathology. “Conventional cancer therapy designed to kill tumor cells is inherently a double-edged sword.” [Emphasis added]
News Wise notes that this research reinforces what the medical community has known since at least the 1950s, but it is the first study to try to determine the exact molecular mechanisms that cause this phenomenon.
Recent data have expanded the concept that inflammation is a critical component of tumour progression. Many cancers arise from sites of infection, chronic irritation and inflammation. It is now becoming clear that the tumour microenvironment [the infrastructure supporting the tumor], which is largely orchestrated by inflammatory cells, is an indispensable participant in the neoplastic process, fostering proliferation, survival and migration.
[R]esolvins actively turn off inflammation and stimulate a class of immune cells to digest the tumor debris left in the wake of the cytokine storm. In this study, resolvins suppressed lung and melanoma metastasis in mouse models, the scientists found, and blocked cancer growth in various tumor models including lung, pancreatic, lymphoma, breast, prostate, and melanoma. When the researchers administered chemotherapy and resolvins to a debris-stimulated pancreatic cancer model in mice, the combination resulted in tumor regression.
The researchers recommend adding resolvins to the existing regimen of chemotherapy and radiation, but how is it logical to subject cancer patients to treatments that do nothing but cause and circulate cancer? Why not just use the resolvins to get to the root of the problem and reverse the inflammation that causes cancer?
A study published in the World Journal of Clinical Cases found that Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω-3 PUFA), which are found naturally in fish oil, are associated with reduced inflammation, since resolvins are the active metabolites of ω-3 PUFA.
Prevention is always better than cure, and those who truly want to prevent cancer should focus on preventing and reversing its cause: inflammation.
