Geschiedenis

Syria threatens Israel with ‘more surprises’

Assad regime spokesman warns Israel will ‘be greatly surprised’ in future strikes on Syria, following military confrontations over weekend.

The Syrian government warned Israel on Tuesday that it faced “more surprises” in future attacks on Syrian territory, after Syrian missiles downed an Israeli fighter jet responding to Iranian provocations over the weekend.

On Saturday, an Iranian drone which invaded Israeli airspace was shot down by Israeli fighter jets. The IAF responded to the incursion by targeting the command center near Damascus where the drone was operated.

During the airstrikes, Syrian surface-to-air missile batteries fired dozens of anti-aircraft missiles at the Israeli jets. One jet was damaged by a Syrian missile, forcing the pilot and navigator to eject after they crossed back into Israeli airspace.

The plane crashed in northern Israel, but the two crew members were recovered by search and rescue teams and evacuated for medical treatment.

On Tuesday, Syria’s assistant foreign minister Ayman Sussan said during a Damascus news conference, “Have full confidence the aggressor will be greatly surprised because it thought this war – this war of attrition Syria has been exposed to for years – had made it incapable of confronting attacks.”

“God-willing they will see more surprises whenever they try to attack Syria,” he said, according to Reuters.

Responding to the incident on Saturday night, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had said that Israel would do “whatever is necessary” to protect its sovereignty.

“Israel holds Iran and its Syrian hosts responsible for today’s aggression. We will continue to do whatever is necessary to protect our sovereignty and our security.”

“Israel wants peace but we will continue to defend ourselves with determination against any attack on us and against any attempt by Iran to entrench itself militarily in Syria or anywhere else,” he added.

Speaking in northern Israel on Tuesday morning, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said that Israel is not limited in the possibilities of its response to provocations from the Syrian side. “We manage things with determination and responsibility, there are no restrictions and we do not accept any restrictions,” Liberman said.

He added, “We acted resolutely and we must understand that every step we take here is preceded by a great deal of work. Everything must be done in a precise, planned, calculated manner. We will respond to every provocation, we will continue to protect our vital security interests and [our interests] in general. To paraphrase the known saying, ‘This is not the time to bark, it’s time to bite’ – and we’ll bite hard. I hope we won’t have to do so.”

Germany spends €50,000 a year to look after single ‘child’ refugee

Germany spends €50,000 a year to look after single ‘child’ refugee

Angela Merkel

One region spent €105.2m in 2017. Official figures show around 43% aren’t children.

It costs around €50,000-a-year to look after a single unaccompanied young refugee in Germany, and just one region spent a total of €105.2m was spent on housing and support for them in 2017, according to reports.

Official figures published by the German government show 43% of unaccompanied child migrants are actually adults, and some are allowed to be cared for by child welfare services until the age of 27.

The city of Kiel spent €58,600 per refugee – of the 1795 unaccompanied minors, 775 are now adults, according to Die Welt.

In Saxony and Lower Saxony the cost was around €54,000, Thuringia €49,000 and Brandenburg €40,000.

Despite the fact that it cost the Schleswig-Holstein region €105m to care for their ‘child’ refugees, the federal government has only given them about €11m, according to German media.

The true cost of the refugee crisis in Germany is absolutely mind blowing. German regions are being hung out to dry thanks to Angela Merkel’s botched open door policy.

Comment: Breitbart reports more on the advantages that come to grown men who pretend they’re ‘child refugees’:

Many asylum seekers have claimed to be underage because it is much harder for the German government to deport underage asylum seekers and many get preferential treatment.

According to Afghan asylum seeker Hussein K., the suspected murderer of German student Maria Ladenburger, he lied about his age to receive better benefits saying, “if you’re a minor, the situation in Germany is better.”

Germany is not the only country facing a large number of asylum seekers lying about their age. In Austria last year, authorities found almost 1,000 asylum seekers had lied about being under eighteen. An Austrian policeman commented on the issue at the time, saying: “It is absurd for us to see grown men with beards and greying hair that claim to be 17 years of age.”

Iran Unveils Series Of Nuclear-Capable Ballistic Missiles And Threatens To Strike Israel Over Syria Attack

by Geoffrey Grider

Iran unveiled a series of new homemade nuclear-capable ballistic missiles during military parades held over the weekend, a move that experts view as a bid to bolster the hardline ruling regime as dissidents continue efforts to stir protest.

On the heels of an encounter between an Iranian drone and Israeli forces, Iranian leaders showcased their ballistic missile capabilities, which includes a nuclear-capable medium-range missile that appears to share similarities with North Korean technology, according to experts.

The nuclear-capable missile can strike Israel even when fired from Iranian territory, raising concerns about an impending conflict between Tehran and the Jewish state that could further inflame the region.

Iranian military leaders bragged the ballistic missile “can be launched from mobile platforms or silos in different positions and can escape missile defense shields due to their radar-evading capability,” according to reports in Iran’s state-controlled media.

The latest technology could further inflame tensions between Israel and Iran, which funds and controls terror organizations operating along Israel’s border. Concerns that this nuclear-capable technology could be shared by Iran with its terrorist proxies are fueling longstanding concerns among the Israelis that an attack is imminent.

As Iranian dissidents continue to protest over the country’s ailing economy, the ruling regime continues to invest millions of dollars it received as part of the landmark nuclear deal with the United States on its military technology, specifically ballistic missiles, which are subject to a ban under international statutes.

However, Iran has not only continued this work but also invested heavily in it since receiving the cash windfalls from the nuclear deal. Conservative estimates from open sources indicate the Iranian regime has spent at least $16 billion in recent years on its military buildup and rogue operations in Syria, as well as other countries.

“Thirty-nine years in, the Islamic Revolution has little to show for its decades in power other than growing the country’s asymmetric military capabilities in order to continue their export of the revolution,” Behnam Ben Taleblu, an Iran expert with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told the Washington Free Beacon. “The Islamic Republic has considerably grown the country’s missile and rocket arsenal, both through production and procurement.”

The two missiles featured over the weekend by Iran include the Ghadr, a medium-range ballistic missile that was modified and upgraded by the Islamic Republic

“The Ghadr can strike Israel when fired from Iranian territory, and in March 2016, was flight-tested while bearing genocidal slogans against the state of Israel,” according to Ben Taleblu, who has researched Iranian missile procurement.

Iranian military leaders also rolled out a rocket called the Fajr-5, which is becoming a new favorite of Iranian-backed terror proxy groups operating against Israel.

“The Fajr-5 is an Iranian rocket that has been proliferated to anti-Israel groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. It can travel up to 75 km, and is therefore a long-range artillery rocket. It uses solid fuel for propulsion,” Ben Taleblu explained. “Both the Qadr missile and Fajr rocket represents Iran’s commitment to developing stand-off weaponry that it uses for purposes of deterrence and coercion.”

The new weaponry could fuel ongoing efforts by Congress to crackdown on Iran’s continued proliferation of ballistic missile technology, a large part of which has been incubated by the North Korean regime, which continues to have a technology-sharing agreement with Tehran.

Iran already has the region’s largest arsenal of ballistic missiles and is seeking to continue building this technology.

The Trump administration has said that any effort to fix the nuclear deal with Iran must focus on constricting the regime’s access to ballistic missile technology. source
